Can you’re pea sea spell?

Posted by James Saunders on 5th December 2007

I found another reading phenomenon which I found interesting… English spelling is particularly complex, especially considering that there are many ways to spell the same sound:

“My knew spelling checker does knot all ways no sum of the write words two use. It tolled me awl of these words were spelled write. Ewe sea, eye halve a knew spelling checker own my pea sea. It was maid to make my miss steaks plane four me two sea. Did ewe find the blew sentences hard two read? Eye did to. They did knot make good since!”

Therefore computer spell-checkers shouldn’t always be trusted, as domonstrated by the passage above.

“You learn how to pass your driving test - THEN you learn to become a driver, it is the same with teaching.” –Lisa’s computer monitor
