A Cornwall Holiday
Posted by James Saunders on May 25th, 2007
I am really looking forward to going on a little Holiday with Claire, Alli, Lisa, Katrina, Ben, Julie and Sam. We are leaving tomorrow morning to go to all stay in a little cottage in Port Scatho, Cornwall for a week. I am so excited I have written a little song:
We’re all going on a Cornwall holiday,
no more DSL links for a week near Looe,
fun and laughter on a Cornwall holiday,
lots of pasties for me and you,
for a week near Looe.
We’re going where the sauna glows brightly,
We’re going where the pool is blue,
We’ve seen it on the t’internet,
now lets see if it’s tru-ooo-oo-e.
JCALKBJS are havin a Cornwall holiday,
Doing things they always wanted to,
So we’re going on a Cornwall holiday,
Nice tea with creams will do,
For me and you.
Just pray the car gets fixed, it is currently in the garage getting the power steering fixed and we need it to drive there!
“The true Cornish way to eat a pasty is to hold it in the hand, and begin to bite it from the opposite end to the initial, so that should any of it be uneaten it may be consumed later by its rightful owner.” –Cornish Recipes Ancient and Modern 23rd edition with supplement by the Cornwall Federation of Women’s Institutes

Well having gone and visied Jimbo and the rest over the weekend in Cornwall, the lodge that they are staying in is very nice lovely views, although the weather on Sunday afternoon (when I was visiting) wasn't that great.
With regards to the song I can not comment on the swimming pool or sauna as they were closed while I was there. However I can confirm that it is no where near Looe, as it is actulally near to Falmouth and Truro; however neaither of those fit in the song, so I'll let him off this time.

Postcard to the world…
We had a lovely time in Cornwall, weather nice, went to museum, gardens, swimming, sauna and lazed around. Very nice scenery.

Oooh I like a pasty but you can do more than eat them…http://www.crazybrits.co.uk/2007/11/06/benefits-of-a-cornish-pasty/

@Sephe: Yes indeed pasties are good! Personally I would not want to do anything but eat them - I certainly would not use a pasty as a doorstop!

Haha, pasties are the tops. I might even start a competition to see who can cook the *perfect* pasty; there’s a recipe on my website here: Cornish Recipes - but can anyone’s nan cook better? What about Warren’s pasties? And what’s the best pasty in Cornwall? ‘Course, the only way to eat a pasty is to leave the crust - would’ve had coal dust all over it back in the day!

The Dash Express GPS has real-time traffic and in addition to a user-developed database of actual traffic conditions. Will the new 3G iPhone with a built-in GPS ever have an application written for it which will recreate this feature? It seems like given the fact that the more units you have out there “monitoring” traffic, the better the real-time data will be, the iPhone would be a great platform (lots of units) to develop something like this.
