Invention #1 - Mobile Phone Camera Lens

Posted by James Saunders on October 21st, 2005

Myself and best mate Joe are convinced there are secret spy satellites listening to each and every one of our groundbreaking ideas. We would often discuss thoughts of grand money-making schemes or world changing invention, but we would never see them through to fruition. More often than not, exactly one year later we would see our amazing ideas, as purloined by the spy satellites, developed by someone else! So I figured what is the point in fighting the system, and so have decided to work with it by proactively publishing my inventions, and what better way to publish them than on the World Wide Web! I do not know how broadcasting such ideas in a blog will affect any copyright issues, but, should anyone read one of my ideas, and make lots of cash from developing it, please do not forget to donate a “reasonable” amount back to me.

The first of my inventions which I am going to publish has already been stolen by the spy satellites!… A while ago I had the idea of developing a lens which could be attached to any camera phone which would allow zooming, pan or filter effects. Much to my dismay while in the Science Museum gift shop last weekend I saw such lenses for sale - I even brought one! Another variation on the idea is to develop an adapter which would allow standard SLR type lenses to be attached to the back of a mobile phone, thus enabling high quality photographs to be taken.

“In 1972 a crack comando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn’t commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles Underground. Today, still wanted by the government they survive as solders of fortune. So, if you have a problem, if no one else can help and if you can find them, maybe you can hire….. The A-Team!” –A-Team Theme
